Audrey outfits up for auction

November 17, 2009   under: audrey news, audrey style   130 words

Dating from 1953 to the late 1960s, the collection includes more than 30 outfits worn by Hepburn, with several pieces by her favourite designer, Hubert de Givenchy.

Hepburn met Givenchy in 1953 during the filming of Sabrina. They formed a long-term friendship, with Givenchy designing almost all the outfits for her subsequent films.

The sale will include a blue cloqué silk cocktail dress from Givenchy’s Autumn-Winter 1966 collection, estimated at £10,000 to £15,000; a black silk dress which Hepburn wore in publicity photographs for the 1962 film, Paris When it Sizzles, also expected to fetch up to £15,000; and a black Chantilly lace cocktail dress which she wore in the 1966 film How to Steal a Million, estimated at between £8,000 and £12,000.

Audrey Icons/Roman Holiday Caps

November 8, 2009   under: audrey news, roman holiday   268 words

I cant believe that its been over a month since I posted anything I’m terrible. Anyways, a couple of days ago I added the Roman Holiday screencaptures back into the gallery. This makes it the fourth (!) time i’ve captured this film. (Once the formant was wrong, once the quality wasn’t that great, again to replace it with DVD captures and this time because i accidentally deleted the last files.)

And lastly, if you have any Audrey related fanart you’d like to submit to the site, I would be more than happy to give proper credit (a link to your personal livejournal or site as well). You can always e-mail me or use the contact forum. Or if you prefer, you can always leave a comment to this post. You can either upload them in a zip file or send me the link to where I might find them at.

Big Gallery Update

September 30, 2009   under: Gallery   399 words

Today I’ve added a ton of new movie related pictures to the gallery. Lots of behind the scenes, movie stills, and promotional. I’ve had a lot of these saved on my computer for months, just haven’t had the time to upload them. Enjoy!

Knightley, Hathaway vying for ‘Fair Lady’

September 14, 2009   under: audrey news, my fair lady   182 words

Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Scarlet Johansson are reportedly all being considered for the lead role of the film remake of My Fair Lady.

The starring role of Eliza Doolittle was originally played by screen legend Audrey Hepburn. Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is to helm the picture and is rumoured to want 24-year-old Knightley for the iconic part, reports STV.

An insider said: “Keira and Scarlett are the only two real contenders and Keira’s the favourite. She’s the most natural Eliza people have seen.

“She has worked on her singing voice for a year and will get better and better.”

Production on My Fair Lady is to begin late next year.

I think Anne would be so perfect for the part of Eliza. She’s a fantastic actress and has an amazing voice already. I’m really excited for the re-make and hope it sticks true to the original. Also excited that Danny Boyle is the director. Thoughts?

Green Mansions / The Nun’s Story

September 1, 2009   under: Gallery, green mansions, the nuns story   157 words

A couple of days ago, I added some Green Mansions screencaptures to the gallery. The quality is crap so forgive me. I’ll try and get my hands on a DVD sometime and replace them. Along with those, I’ve added other albums to each GM and The Nun’s Story to the gallery.

Random photoshoots

August 26, 2009   under: Gallery   146 words

Added some more random photoshoots of the 1950’s-1960’s into the gallery. Later periods will be added once I have a few more to add. Look for some Green Mansions screencaps to be joining the gallery soon. As well as a few others later.

New play/candid photos

August 22, 2009   under: Gallery   194 words

I’ve added some new photos over the past couple of days. Candid’s of Audrey in the 1950’s-1960’s as well as pictures of her two major Broadway plays Gigi and Ondine. More will be coming soon. On a related note, I’ve taken to adding ‘Adoring Audrey Hepburn’ onto the pictures joining the gallery. (Excluding caps). Like other Audrey fansites, I’ve seen pictures taken without credit given. Not that I mind too much since Audrey is so popular. It’s the internet so its bound to happen one way or the other, right?

The Children’s Hour caps

August 9, 2009   under: Gallery, audrey news, the childrens hour   231 words

I’ve finally added the captures of Audrey’s 1961 drama The Children’s Hour back to the gallery. I love, love, love this movie. The acting is just top notch. And little Mary Tilford makes Ruthie Bell look like a Saint!! If you get the chance to watch it tomorrow on Audrey’s day, please do!

And on that note don’t forget to tune into TCM tomorrow, August 11, to catch a marathon of some of Audrey’s best and hard to find films. Like My Fair Lady, Green Mansions, War and Peace, Laughter in Paradise and more! The image above is a neat TCM poster of Roman Holiday, another film being shown tomorrow.

War and Peace screencaps

July 29, 2009   under: Gallery, war and peace   202 words

I’ve added a little over 1000 images of Audrey as Natasha Rostova in the epic film War and Peace. Audrey looked amazing during the film and really knocked it out of the park. Henry Fonda, I think, was great as Pierre. I read somewhere that he was ‘painfully miscast’ in the role. The only thing I could find against his portrayal was his speaking voice. He sounds so American in a film full of actors with European accents. But that’s the only thing I could find fault with. This is just my own opinion, of course.
